Alonso is out because of an engine failure in his Renault F1

A huge blow for the Renault team in the Spanish Grand Prix 2008 came when top racer Fernando Alonso and teammate Nelson Piquet had to drop out of the race despite their great performance during qualifications. Even though Alonso did not cross the finish line he remains an optimist and is certain that what his R28 showed during the race is a clear sign that he will be able to compete with the leaders in F1 more seriously. His teammate Nelson Piquet knows what he did wrong and why he didn’t finish the race and although disappointed because of that, he is looking forward to the next race (in Turkey) where he can show everybody that he has learned from his mistakes and is ready to take on the big racers. We’ll see how Renault has dealt with their “small” crisis and if the potential their racers show will truly change the medal distribution.
